BlackTrax is a comprehensive tracking technology that delivers precise realtime positioning for automated/robotic technologies, such as spotlights and holograms. BlackTrax is quickly becoming the standard for entertainment, event, houses of worship and sporting event productions, as well as immersive audience experiences.
Although video is usually preferred to demonstrate an animated technology like this, CAST Software, BlackTrax’s parent company, needed to demonstrate in print and other areas the realtime adjustment capabilities of the technology with a flat 2D image. How would we show such a dynamic concept in a printed brochure?
Working closely with my client, and art director, Daniel Vianna, we explored various real-life situations which could tell the story. Using principles of dynamic event photography of captured moments frozen in time, we developed stage performance scenarios that would easily benefit from trackable projection. With swinging props, spaceships, and performers, the viewer is drawn into a scene that nearly appears to be a video game or motion production. That is the BlackTrax experience: going beyond the stage with new visuals never before possible.
